Experience Momentum’s Positive Impact on Local Sports Medicine Programs

Erin Melton -

Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

ATC, CSCS, CF-L1, RYT

Experience Momentum Athletic Trainer, Erin Melton is a member of the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee for the Edmonds School District. Her work with this committee allows us at Experience Momentum to help contribute to the next generation of budding healthcare providers. This connection also puts us in the position to connect with and support local Athletic Trainers, Sports Medicine teachers, and Healthcare Providers in the area that serve as resources for these students. We provide internships, shadowing experiences and opportunities for students to learn about career possibilities that they may not have been exposed to yet. These invaluable learning experiences are powerful ways we help expand the framework of what a student dreams of for their future.

I want students to identify what they love and find how to turn that into a job; not to just chase the idea of an income.

“If you're passionate about what you're doing, you'll be great at it, and you'll thrive. That's who people want to hire, that's who people want to work alongside of, that's what creates a life that you love.

"Everyone should have the opportunity to work in a job that lights them up, that they're passionate about, and that fills their cup. I want students to identify what they love and find how to turn that into a job; not to just chase the idea of an income.  If you're passionate about what you're doing, you'll be great at it, and you'll thrive. That's who people want to hire, that's who people want to work alongside of, that's what creates a life that you love. That's what I do and I want students to know how to seek that for themselves as well. I have worked as an Athletic Trainer at every level from youth sports to professional sports and a lot of types of settings along the way. I would not have known in high school that a job like what I'm doing now would be something that was possible if I hadn't chased what I love and met people along the way who fostered that passion and possibility, and I hope that myself and my coworkers, through these programs can provide that for these kids." - Erin Melton

Erin’s Latest Direct Involvement in Local Sports Medicine

Recently Erin had the pleasure of moderating, judging, and creating the competition questions for the WESCO Sports Medicine Competition, an annual trivia competition for sports medicine classes from 13 local high schools.

This event highlights all Sports Medicine curriculum learned throughout the year. With a trivia game show format and a focus on sports medicine knowledge, this setting provides a fun and competitive way for students to showcase their expertise. Congratulations to Wyatt Waddel for winning the ankle taping competition, to the Snohomish High School Sports Medicine students for winning the team competition, and to all of the students, teachers, and Athletic Trainers who have worked very hard this past year to learn and teach college level Athletic Training and Sports Medicine skills.

Erin is an incredible Athletic Trainer and Personal Trainer at Experience Momentum. If you are interested in getting onto her schedule email us at fitness@experiencemomentum.com!
