In-House Olympic Lifting Meet
Regardless of experience level, this meet is an opportunity to celebrate the strength and camaraderie of our community. This competition was inspired by our Barbell Empowerment class as an exclamation to 12 weeks of work in an Olympic lifting cycle! The event is open to all members, regardless of one’s prior attendance in barbell empowerment. As a coach led and community-based event, the competition will take the format of a weightlifting meet comprising of the Olympic lifts – Clean & Jerk and Snatch. Between both lifts we will establish a total, which reflects the cumulative load factoring of the highest weight successfully completed for each movement. The meet is 90 minutes long, allotting adequate time to warm up, build up in weight, lift, and hit a personal record! Each athlete will have 3 attempts at both lifts while everyone cheers them on. Only one athlete will lift at a time. This is an awesome opportunity to test one’s personal records in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment amongst other fitness members! It is an Experience Momentum exclusive event (it is not official as according to the standards of USA Weightlifting).
